Two weeks ago I started noticing that dust were starting to get under the screen so I went back to the store and they said they’ll try to fix the dust problem till the next day. When I got it back it was clean and all dust free so naturally I thought they’d fixed the problem.

Now after roughly another two weeks the dust is starting to come back as you can see to the right here.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that the top left part of the glass is raised 1-2 mm compared to the right side of the glass.

My suspicion is that the top left part is pressing against the seal that seems to be around the glass and therefore letting in some dust.

Tomorrow when I have some more time after work I’ll go back to the store and demand that they’ll fix the problem and not just remove the dust. I’ll post an update on how it went.

Last friday I was doing my laundry when I accidentally dropped my iPhone from about 1.2 m height (4 feet) height. There was a distinct cracking sound when it hit the floor. The good news was that it still worked the bad news was that the glass had cracked, as you can see here.

I was pretty sure that the warranty didn’t cover a cracked glass on the iPhone, but I figured I could ask. Sure enough it didn’t cover any physical damage to the iPhone. All they could do was to exchange it for a new one for about 3995 kr, which is about 1000 kr less than a new one.

The next idea was to order a DIY kit and try to do it myself but after watching a couple of instructions on how to do it I decided that maybe its better to let someone who had done this before to exchange the glass.

Thanks to a friend on Facebook I got a tip where they repaired iPhones within a couple of hours, which was perfect. So now I have a fully working iPhone again.

Even though it is much faster to draw with the tablet it still goes slower than I would like. Maybe the biggest reason is that I don’t seem to have enough time to actually sit down and draw. Hopefully I can get some drawing done this week when I have some free time also the days after Christmas I have couple days when I will try to get some drawing done.
My first plan was to post the whole thing, mainly because I thought it would go a lot faster to draw them but I’m thinking of posting them when a page is finished instead.
The good news is that I’m almost finished with the first page so hopefully the first page will come up later this/next week.

Couple of days ago I found a good blogging tool which I really enjoy using. It’s Windows Live Writer. Some things that I like about is that you can save your draft to your blog, well at least when using Blogger, so that you can continue writing to the same post from whichever computer you use. And, it uses your css theme from your blog so you can get an idea of how the post will look like when published. It really helps, at least I think so, mostly I think because I used to write the previous blog posts directly on blogger.com. There was nothing wrong with that, only it was a bit easier to use Writer instead of writing in a browser window.
Another thing I like is the plug-in support, like the Flickr4Writer plug-in, which lets you select your or others pictures from Flickr and add them to your blog. So far I’ve just used the Flickr plug-in but what I’ve read there should be many plugins to Writer but I have had some trouble of actually finding some because when I go to the official Writer plugin-page all I see is <s>an empty page,</s> well forget that, I got an empty page because there aren’t any swedish plugins. When I changed my account preferences to English I found the plugins where they should be.
You can also edit your already published post using Writer. All you need to do is to click the Open button at the top and select the post you want to edit. The only thing that bugs me is that when you get the list of post that you have on the blog, you can’t see which of the posts are drafts and which are regular posts. The way I have gotten around this is to write DRAFT: in the beginning of the title. This way you can easily spot your drafts in Live Writer and when you are ready to publish the post simply remove DRAFT: from the title and then publish, or schedule your post as normal.

Since I don’t have a scanner, I first tried tried to draw the sketches on the computer with the mouse and it didn’t go as I planned, in other words it looked like crap. Instead of continuing I started to clean my desk and found my old Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet lying around under all the junk on my desk.
It must have been about roughly two years ago when I ordered a Wacom Bamboo fun tablet, cause I thought that if I buy that tablet maybe I will draw more on my computer. It all went well for the first couple of weeks I played around with the tablet, and as time went by I used it less and less and in the end it was just lying around on my desk and taking up space.
Now when I tried using it instead of a mouse it all went a lot smoother and it’s a lot more fun to draw with a pen instead of a mouse. Now I’m pleased that I bought the tablet, just a pity it took two years before I began using it properly.
I also found my first complete drawing I made with the tablet. I think I drew it in the first half of 2008. What do you think?

I mentioned in my last post that I wanted to be better at drawing. Well now I have started drawing again. I have been meaning to start drawing for some time now but there has always been something meaningless stopping me from taking it up again.

I’ve always been a little envious of my friends who can draw better than me. When I have tried to draw something I’ve always stopped after only a couple of tries since I’ve noticed that I haven’t got as good result that I’ve hoped for.

Couple of days ago I was listening to some music when I was updating my computer. When the “please restart your computer” sign came up I picked up a pen and started sketching to pass some time. While I waited for the computer to restart for the second time I got an idea about what to draw. Since I’m not that good at drawing (yet) I figured I need to have some sort of project to keep me motivated to continue drawing, instead of just drawing something completely every now and then. This time I need to stop being so picky and not be discouraged if my drawings aren’t as perfect on the first try, and just keep drawing stuff. It’s kind of hard to get better if you don’t actually draw anything, would you say that?

Maybe I’ll post some of the drawings here after I’ll get them on my computer rather just on paper.

For some time I have thought that I should be better at things, so now I have decided to do somthing about it instead of just wishing that I’d be better at this or that. For starters I can think of two things, namely writing and drawing.

I would like to be a little better at writing about anything really, so I’d figured the best way of becoming a better writer is to write more I guess. That’s why I’m starting to write here again. At least this way I’ll be using this blog for something, and it doesn’t really matter if no one reads this blog, this way I’ll get at least some
practice.

I am well aware of that this blog may contains various grammatical and spelling errors and such but hopefully with time the number of errors will decrease.

The second thing I’d like to be better at is drawing. Drawing what you might ask? Well, all kinds of things, like comics, things I see lying around and such. And why? Because it’s fun of course.

I’m rather sure that there will be other things I’d like to be better at and when I’ve figured those things out maybe I’ll write about it.
